SureSmile is an advanced form of orthodontic treatment that can straighten your teeth in forty percent less time than conventional orthodontics. SureSmile isn’t just braces but the archwire, planning and design system for braces. There are three main steps involved in SureSmile treatment: (1) digital imaging with the OraScanner, (2) computer modeling with SureSmile software and (3) robotic adjustment to archwires. In step one we use a 3-D intraoral imaging device called an OraScanner to create a three dimensional model of your mouth before we begin treatment. The OraScanner’s white light can capture very accurate images of the inside of your mouth without causing discomfort. Step two the 3-D image of your mouth appears on our computer. We then use SureSmile Treatment Planning software to create a model of your desired smile. Using both the image of your actual mouth and that of your desired smile, we can plot the precise tooth movement needed to achieve the proper results. Because everything is computer charted, your arch wires are designed with precision and accuracy. That means you will not have to come in for adjustments as often as you would with conventional treatment. In step three, the SureSmile software conveys the design to robotic hands which bend and shape your archwires.
